“Erika, words can’t describe how very grateful we are for you. You’re so professional. You made us feel so comfortable. The compliments and rave reviews we get on our pictures has been so exciting! I wish I could record people’s responses to show future clients of yours. Thank you for being a true light in our planning process. We loved you and your work from the moment we met you. My mom talks about you like you’re an old family friend! I wish there were more ways to say thank you and express our gratitude.” This was a thank you card I received after a wedding this past past fall. It almost made me cry.
By the time the wedding day comes around, I don’t consider my clients, clients, we’ve gotten to know each other, and become friends. While my role is as a photographer, I work with you during your planning process, to get to know you, and your expectations. We’ll talk about what about photography is important to you and make sure the timeline of your day fits it all in. I love light, airy, ethereal images, they warm my soul! I want to shoot the beauty of your day, as you remember it. Once we are working together, I want you to feel confident that you will have images to look back on and remember all the love from that day, not just from the person you married, but from all the family and friends who have come to join in the celebration.
While I am based in New Orleans, I’ve called several places home. I grew up in California, and lived in Hawai’i for years. I travel to both often, to visit friends, family, and to shoot weddings. Growing up I was very fortunate to have travelled all over the world with my family. In the summers I could have just as easily have been on a vineyard in France with my parents, as I could have been at the beach in Santa Monica. Needless to say I love to explore, travel, see new places. It inspires the creative artist in me. Weddings have taken me all the way to Spain, Italy, Malaysia and India.
