Today I am so excited to show you this sweet Malibu wedding from Feather Love Photography. Jenny and Luc are both graphic designers so their playful, creative spirits came to life through every detail of the evening. I just adore the twinkle lights hanging from the trees at the ceremony–so lovely and enchanting!

With the hopes of saving money, I went all out DIY: designed letterpress invites, inserts, labels, ‘Save the Date’ coasters, RSVP custom-stamped vintage postcards, scoured the internet for vintage postage stamps, designed our wedding website [http://jennyandluc.com], ordered flowers direct from the farm, found all vendors, made all iPod playlists for the party, etc. and .. eventually I learned how to ask for help. We wrangled some amazingly talented friends and loved ones to participate and they helped make it a magical day.

I planned the wedding over the course of a year while working fulltime/freelancing as a graphic designer. I felt the most creatively fulfilled when working on this huge project. (Dear Brides, I would love to help you/discuss any print/web design or event design ideas).

So many evenings when Luc would come home from work (he is also a graphic designer at a branding firm), we would bounce ideas back and forth, and below is a portion of the questions we asked ourselves in order to create the best wedding imaginable:

Where do we want to get married?
Under a big tree (major bonus for a carousel, ferris wheel, and huge pavilion nearby)

Should we include Prince’s: “Dearly Beloved. We are gathered here today to get through this thing called Life. Electric word life that means forever…” in our vow ceremony?
Yep.

Having a ferris wheel and a magical location is enough but fitting Prince into your wedding ceremony is just showing off! LOL. Love it!

Thank you for all the super sweet comments.
Meagan, I think the link isn’t working, you can go here:
[http://cargocollective.com/jennyportfolio#216606/Getting-Married] or http://www.cargocollective.com/jennyportfolio and my contact info is there. I have to add some more pieces to that post but you’ll get an idea. Can’t wait to talk more :)
Sarah, the gorgeous lights were already hung at the venue, you could call Calamigos Ranch and ask where they got those lights. They were magic.

Featured Simple Wedding Inspiration from Nature

We always think the most beautiful inspiration for weddings comes from nature. After all, Mother Nature has done a wonderful job, hasn't she? In today's featured editorial, the creative team elected to work with a very simple, pared-down palette of green and brown, both usually found as the base colors in nature. Highlighting the beauty of these natural tones caused them to push the bounds of their creativity, resulting in a beautiful combination of simple, natural designs with a modern aesthetic.

Featured Unique Elopement in Spain

Elopements have this unique ability to allow a couple to shake off the reigns of tradition and do whatever suits them best. In this event, captured by Meghan Kay Sadler, we love how the couple combined their elopement with their honeymoon, travelling through Spain without any particular plans, and enjoying it all the way.
