The wonderful photographer duo, He & She Photography, recently sent in these adorable engagement images of Kate and Daniel. They actually got hitched this past Friday, so I couldn’t resist wishing Congratulations to the happy couple! There were so many great images from this session, but I love the scrabble set below…

I am so excited about today on Once Wed. Not only is it Friday(yay!), but my first column is now up on Design Sponge. I was so excited to partner up with Gloria Wong Design and Jen Curtis on this inspiration shoot in San Francisco. Gloria is an incredible event designer and brought together an amazing team of vendors including Good on Paper, Nancy Liu Chin, and Mira Aster to create this wonderful table inspired by Spirograph’s. To see the rest of this gorgeous table and more photos from Jen Curtis, click here…
A version of this spirograph-inspired tablescape will also be featured at The Wedding University on January 31, 2010 at the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley. The Wedding University is an afternoon of elegance, education, and inspiration for engaged couples, providing personalized classes, taught by experienced wedding professionals in an atmosphere of welcome, relaxation and fun. Jen of Miss Pickles Press made two amazing signs that read “Will you marry me” and “She said yes,” printed on wood veneer and embellished with sweet floral detailing at the edges.

We found an incredible venue in the country with a charming rustic barn, Amber Grove Inn, and called up some of our favorite people to bring this awesome story of a proposal to life.

Jen also made all of our “memory cards.” We tied her pretty hand-stamped muslin bags along the string of yarn. Tucked within each of the bags, was a card that recalled a special memory between our two fictitious lovebirds. Sort of like a game of hide and seek, our groom planted clues for his soon to be so she could find him at the end of the string of yarn, waiting to propose.

I’m feeling much better this morning and so very excited to share this adorable inspiration shoot that Courtney from Merriment Events (little white book) sent over. It was a collaboration between Courtney, Janie Medley of JM Flora (The Brides Café) and Ryan and Kelly of Kellan Studios. Here are the lovely details from Courtney…
Story behind the shoot… Janie and I just love working together on “inspiration” shoots. They’re one step beyond inspiration boards and really show a bride how to bring an idea to life. And, they couldn’t be more fun to concept and design.
A Stitch in Time is based off the true story of an engagement – the engagement of two of my clients, Natalie and Lincoln.

It was a tradition in Lincoln’s family at Christmastime that his parents would string a piece of yarn through the house…around chairs, through doorways, down hallways. At the end of the string of yarn, the children would find a special gift meant just for them. Lincoln adapted this tradition when he proposed to Natalie, tying special pieces of memorabilia to the string of yarn…concert tickets, love notes…for Natalie to find on her way to him.
Kimberly of Chez Sucre Chez made the most heartfelt pattern embroidered with the name of our shoot and four hoops that spelled out the word love.

The yarn was such a point of inspiration for us. It conjured up all sorts of handmade, folk-inspired details….vintage spools of thread, mismatched drawer pulls, old fashioned bundt cakes and cross stitch patterns.

more to come…
I am feeling under the weather this morning, so I’m going to head out early to rest and hopefully heal. Check back tomorrow though to see more of this adorable, love story…
