Have you ever noticed that some of the best memories are sweetest in hindsight? Every now and then, something will jar you for the briefest instant back to a moment in the past…riding the teacups with your dad at DisneyLand…spraying your hair into place before your first school dance…the first time you held hands with the man who would one day ask you to marry him. There’s something delicious about dwelling in those memories, free from the distractions that were there in the moment.
And at no time is this more true than on your wedding day–a whirlwind of beautiful moments you might not even notice as they’re happening: your groom’s look of nervous anticipation as he waits for the procession…your dad covertly removing his glasses to wipe his eyes…your grandparents dancing.
I feel so blessed that my affinity for nostalgia, romance and beauty would come together so perfectly in what I do now. Creating these photos–these little time machines–to transport you back to that day and that feeling of overwhelming love–it’s the best job in the world.
