Laidback Coastal Anniversary Session

They say that creative people feel more deeply. Today we’re sharing the anniversary photos of husband and wife photography due, Sally and Robert of Sally Pinera Photo, and their story certainly speaks to the truth of feeling and loving very intensely. These gorgeous photos from Lauren Balingit capture their journey, and in Sally’s words, “I believe love isn’t merely planted or stagnant. I believe love changes, grows, and motivates all the fragments of a person to come together and be made whole, together.”

Read on for more from the bride, Sally:
“So mighty is the water that crashes against the beautiful California coast. The beauty of my marriage with Robert reminds me of these deeper waters as we got married in a whirlwind of 3 months and lived from city to city: New York City, Miami, Washington and now California. Home, was each other. The gentle yet strong heart of Robert anchored us as we traveled and lived out our dream together. This dream has been nothing more than to live fully and love deeply. Our fuel was and continues to be our love and passion for life. Through the waves of seasons we had in each city, we were able to continue to grow and intertwine our souls to one another.

The sky over us dimmed golden. Feathered wings soared high above. The wind embraced us. And it was just us and the magnificence of the coast. Lauren captured us ever so perfectly and made a way for us to remember our journey and the love that braved through many changes. From the first day we met and fell in love to now, I see a changed man; and I a changed woman. I believe love isn’t merely planted or stagnant. I believe love changes, grows, and motivates all the fragments of a person to come together and be made whole, together.”

A Cure for the Pinterest Wedding

pivot from pinterest email

Instagram and Pinterest can be wonderful sources of inspiration when it comes to planning a wedding. But the sheer volume of ideas available can often stifle originality. Have you experienced this yourself or with your clients?

How do we move towards something creative and more personal – rather than replicating what has been done before?

Joy Thigpen is talking about an answer to this today via Wedding Styling 101.

Elegant Destination Wedding in Bali

When we hear the words “destination wedding,” we often think of a beachfront wedding at a Caribbean resort, with sand, seashells, and maybe a short wedding dress. It can be difficult to plan a destination wedding in the first place, let alone one that really fits your personal aesthetic, especially if that aesthetic is a more traditionally elegant, black-tie style. Today’s real wedding shows us that even if seashells aren’t your thing, you can still have an amazing destination wedding. Melissa and Rei chose to wed in Bali, with inspiring, ancient jungle vistas as their backdrop.

Read on for more from the bride about the couple’s sweet love story:
“We met on the first day of Math class in high school, and Rei was one of the new students. He sat right behind me and we only managed to share a joke until I was moved to a different class.

Both he and I were in relationships and we didn’t have many classes together and even when we did, we’d never sit close to each other. Little did we know that a year later we would both be single and would become the best of friends. It all started when I spotted him trying to skip class and me trying to drag and convince him not to.

Over the last year of high school, we ended up sharing the same group of friends and though we were the complete polar opposites of each other, he being the logical one and me being over-emotional, something just clicked! Fast forward to almost 7 years together, he proposed!”
