Since celebrating with their families was one of their highest priorities, Jilleen and Jake opted for “family-style meals and live music (with a tribute to the other “J&J” – June and Johnny), set in a casual atmosphere where our family and friends flying in from across the country could sit back, enjoy a glass of good wine and relax.” And since Jilleen is an interior decorator, designing a space for the wedding that resonated with her personal style more than a traditional wedding style made sense to her. (And as a bonus, she gets to use a lot of the decor in her home now! The rug they stood on to say their vows will now be a family keepsake.) Jilleen had the table runners made but she spent her weekends dipping napkins in indigo dye for each guest and hand stamping linen coasters for the bar because she wanted to be involved in the creation process. Another fun element was that rather than having a traditional guest book, guests signed their names and marked their heights (which created a uniquely wide scatterplot since the groom and half the groomsmen are linesmen!) on a strip of canvas.
