Beach Wedding Reception Oyster Garland CenterpieceDaughter Of Poseidon Royal Seaside Beach WeddingCoral Candle Centerpiece Beach Wedding

Most of our cover shoot, ‘Daughters of Poseidon,’ was held together by the color palette of an oyster shell. One of the things I knew I wanted to do from the beginning was an oyster shell garland. The top image is in the magazine, the bottom two are not. Come back tomorrow for a tutorial on how to make the oyster garland in the top and bottom images. But I’ll go ahead and tell you: the coral used as a candle holder is super easy to do! I just put some orthodontics wax on the bottom of each candle and pushed them into openings in the coral–easy peasey.

The colors in this shoot are insane. It’s the most beautiful palette I’ve ever seen. Where did you find the coral?

I love this! What a beautiful and unexpected use of beach elements as a centrepiece and garland. I can totally imagine being there. Absolutely stunning!!

That candle holder would work as a center piece on a table even for a non themed wedding, and that dress is just amazing. Love the seaside theme.

aww, thanks, anna! (and robyn and plum pretty sugar!) the coral was actually borrowed from my intern, lauren–i asked her to start sourcing options of coral and barnacles for me to choose from and she said she had a whole collection of it from her wedding that we could use–perfect! i love that blue gray coral and the purple barnacle so much….! thanks again lauren!! :)

Gorgeous! My sister wants something like this for her wedding this October. Do you have any suggestions for flowers to accompany this look?

Joy,

This layout has stayed with me since I first saw it a few years ago.
I was so taken, we are duplicating this for my daughter’s Avalon, NJ beach wedding July 2017.
Where did you obtain the tablecloth?
It looks like natural linen, possibly blue gray in color or is it just natural linen material drapped over the table.
Joanie
