INSPIRATION: A Denim Wedding

So we thought it’d be kinda fun to see a wedding party in denim….what do you think?

We made a monogramed wood-burned aisle to match the invitations. Ok–truth: we planned to burn the monogram into the wood (how hard can it be? boy scouts do it) and quickly realized it would take a million hours… word to the wise–if you want to try this DIY, consider Plan B: brown marker and a little shoe polish. :)

The other tricky part was the blue flowers. There are not many naturally occurring blue flowers (and I don’t recommend the dyed ones) but here are some very cool choices: tweedia, muscari, light and dark blue delph inium, bachelor buttons/cornflower, nigella, and thistle.

The bouquet is gorgeous. I like the concept of being inspired by denim too.

I am cringing at how hipster-ish it seems-the groom doesn’t appear to be wearing socks! (Influenced by J.Crew?)
Why would you spend all that money on an Oscar de la Renta gown and then guests are wearing Wellies?
Beautiful setting, nice improv w/the fliers. You all look very nice….

That dress looks like a Carolina Herrera from a few seasons back (which I’m obsessing over). Did Oscar de la Renta do a similar one, or has there been a designer name mix-up?

The bouquet is incredibly beautiful! Calling this a demin wedding is a bit deceiving – there’s nothing scruffy about these shots! What a perfect way to show that casual and elegant can go together. Congrats!

very cool. I seen this on Billy Reids Facebook page. Love the subtlety of the menswear denim. I don’t see this being hipster one bit. Seems unique and awesome.

This is too cute! The bridal party looks fantastic and I’m totally loving the denim blazers on the groomsmen. Brings back memories of “jorts” parties in college. Jedding, anyone? :]
