Mod Wedding Inspiration
This morning I’m excited to share with you some fresh, mod inspiration from the wonderful ladies over at Bash, Please events. They have created a wedding shoot based entirely off the lives and artwork of Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick. It’s always fun to see something new and different–I hope that you are inspired!
Products of the 1960’s, pop art and the avant-garde, Andy and Edie epitomized the time. Andy, a painter, printmaker, filmmaker and Edie his model, socialite, muse, trolliped around “The Factory” freely expressing themselves and inspiring a culture. Any exuberant bride and groom looking for a pop-mod wedding reception can find a voice from these two trouble makers.
We chose Siren Studios for our location – a clean, stark studio space reminiscent of Warhol’s infamous Factory – the perfect canvas for a pop art reception. Taken by Andy + Edie’s unconventional approach to life, our couple scrapped the traditional wedding ceremony then reception repertoire – opting instead for a modern chic cocktail party post “I dos”.
With a blank canvas to work with, we chose a mod black and white color palette with touches of pink and red thrown in for vibrancy and a bit of pop. The black and white striped lounge bed and armchair are piled high with easy to sew pillows embellished with colored tape and spray paint for a factory-esque DIY element. We sourced easy to find hot pink and black duct tape plus shiny silver masking tape and cut into architectural lines to create “decor” on the pillows. Of course it wouldn’t be a Warhol party with silver shiny balloons acting as mirrors and clouds about the space.

Noting Warhol’s DIY approach to art, we designed invites and the guest book using everyday items like cardboard and newspaper – enticing guests’ curiosity with a “super secret location.”
We hand-painted the centers of daisies black and arranged them with hot pink protea, red dahlias, black painted pods and pretty pink peonies in paint cans. The bouquet wrapped in black and white striped ribbon is both strikingly mod and sweetly soft all at once, just like our fashionable muse.

LOVE the flourescent nails and the eyewear!
So so so cool! This feels like living in ‘Factory Girl’ and I love it!
loooooooooooove. I’ve always wanted to cover my walls with foil and have a Factory party…a Factory wedding would be a step better!
This is fantastic. I saw the Andy Warhol exhibition when it came to Brisbane (I flew up with my 9 year old). This so reminds me of it. I also adore the bouquet. Pruxxx
I LOVE the bouquet! Very unique.
