A San Francisco Engagement

I love receiving submissions from couples who read Once Wed, so when Kimia recently sent in her engagement session I couldn’t resist sharing some images here with you. As an artist/filmmaker, Kimia knew the second she got engaged that finding the right photographer was going to be a big part of the planning. The moment they set eyes on Jose’s dreamy images, they knew they had found their guy. I know props are all the rage these days for engagement shoots, but I still believe you can never go wrong with sweet and simple…

Our shoot was really spontaneous in terms of location. We basically just pulled over on the side of the road between San Francisco and Napa for all the pictures. It was quite an adventure to say the least, especially climbing up on the boat. The floorboards were really old and shaky, so the whole time we were worried about falling through! Kenny and I wouldn’t have had it any other way though. I think the fun and joy we experienced in scouting out the locations is captured so beautifully in the images.

The lighting is amazing! Is it sunrise, or sunset? I also love the candids, they show more of a couple’s true personality. Beautiful pictures, congrats Kenny & Kimia!
