A Modern Brisbane Wedding
I just adore this sweet and simple wedding all the way from Australia. Any wedding where the invitation is covered in rainbow confetti sounds like my celebration…
David and I are graphic designers from Brisbane. Brisbane is a small city with a lot of emerging talent and we wanted to show case some of that. We were married at Franklin Villa, Highgate Hill in Brisbane Australia. Franklin Villa was perfect for our wedding. We wanted to create a relaxed atmosphere for our guests and the comfort of an old home with character and charm really helped create the right mood. Guests played billiards or relaxed on the big leather lounge chairs. They sat on the verandahs and soaked in the city views. It was an afternoon of good conversation, old friends and space to simply just relax.
The day was just lovely and I think once again it can be proved that you don’t have to spend a fortune to have a truly elegant wedding day that you and your guests will remember forever.

The couple looks sooooo good together! And the style…AWESOME!
Ahhh, the gorgeous Lisa! I’m very happy to see pictures of her beautiful wedding here – although, I must admit I have had a sneak peek of these. ;)
Lisa and David were married exactly one week after myself and my husband earlier this month, so it was fun to be able to share ideas with each other.
So sweet! Sometimes simple is the best way to go :)
Sounds like an absolutely great time. I love that the guests were able to sit back relax and enjoy themselves. What a great day.
Really loving the invitation – it is gorge! Lovely weddin pictures too! A great wedding :)
Thank you all for your lovely comments, our ‘party with paperwork’ turned out just beautifully. Our focus was to make the day fun and relaxed for our friends and family. And when that’s the focus, you can’t help but have a great time yourself! We sent our guests home with the mismatched vintage cake plates that we served our fairy cakes on and boxes of our favourite chocolate-coated macadamia’s. The end of the night was spent in the comfy lounge room with a group of our closest friends – sipping port and reminiscing about old times. It was just wonderful!
the b&w diptych of you two is so great. the whole thing has a warm feel to it. congrats!
love, love LOOOOOOOOOOVE.
The last 2 photos (the kiss) melted my heart a little.
