A Whimsical Backyard Wedding II

Our reception took place in my parents’ yard.  My parents are avid gardeners and had spend the better part of the summer tending to flowers and manicuring the lawn.  My husband and I  chose to make most of the details ourselves, from the letterpressed invitations to the tiny sock monkey couple that topped our cake. We are blessed to have many loving friends and family members who were willing to pitch in and help us put together such a special day.  My maid of honor and I purchased the flowers at the local market and friends helped us put together bouquets and table arrangements.  The scrumptious Greek feast was home cooked by friends and family.

My husband serenaded me with the first song of the evening and his band mates played the song for our first dance.  I’ll never forget the look on the band members’ faces when my relatives showered the dance floor with dollar bills (an odd Greek-American tradition).  We are also very fortunate to have such wonderfully talented photographers as friends.  We love our wedding photos and will always cherish these beautifully documented moments.

Thank you again to evs media for sharing these gorgeous images with us. And to Yota and Joe for letting us take a peek into your beautiful celebration! We wish you lots of love and happiness for many years to come.

I second Jamie – I adore the reception dress. Any chance of getting more information on it? I scoured the Betsy Johnson website and couldn’t find it :/ I’ve been wanting a dress just like it!

I love the dress, the sock monkeys, the couple, super sweet!

Thanks again for the sweet comments. The reception dress was from Betsy Johnson. It was purchased a couple years ago now, so that style may no longer be available. I’ve seen some similar vintage dresses in some online shops. http://www.etsy.com/shop/TimelessVixenVintage is one of my favorites.
The groom’s suit is from H&M.

Yota, Where are your hair pieces from?

We have simiar colors for our wedding. Where is the tie from? We are having a hard time finding slim ties in that color!

Such a lovely wedding! The details are the best, and so are the helping hands.

From where I’m from, they pin the money to the couple’s clothes during their first dance. :)

Hey Denise

I’m pretty sure the bride and groom made everything.

I too would love to know where the ties are from. I am from MA too like the bride and can not find anything in that shade. my colors are peaches and oranges so I fell in love with that tie!

I think the pictures are amazing. Each one of them has an interesting characteristic about them that makes them stand out. They really captured the moment- great job.

The dress is Betsey Johnson but you can also search Ebay for ‘Betsey Johnson tea party dress’ and you can find some real ones and some knock offs too.

Hey Raquel

The sonk monkey caketopper was actually made by the bride. If you follow the highlighted link at the very for the caketopper you will land on her etsy store.
