Inspiration from the Ginny Au Birmingham Workshop

It’s so inspirational for us to see creatives nurturing one another through workshops and design courses, and we love that our brides can glean direction from stylists like Ginny Au even if they’re not part of the industry. Keep reading to find out a little more about Ginny’s creative journey.

From Ginny Au:

“I believe the need to clutter or overthink a design is an easy pitfall in the wedding industry. It was something I struggled with early in my career. Over time, I stopped piecing together unrelated details and focused on one element allowing all other inspiration to stem from that single source. This approach allowed me the freedom to explore the beauty of simplicity and the humility in a deconstructed design. It also demands a sensory approach to your design process, one I often layout on walls using texture and pigment.

I decided to teach a series of day classes that focused on the origin of a design and  simple styling techniques, encouraging creatives in all fields to find their own voice and a unique way of expressing it.”

Once Wed was launched in March 2008 to meet a need in the marketplace for an online listing service for second-hand wedding dresses. Within a short time, the company had developed into an online wedding publication and resource to provide newly-engaged brides with inspiration and tools to plan their dream wedding.
