Cherishing Your Engagement

The engagement period is often a hard space in a relationship, filled with plans, hellos, and goodbyes, and it is also a deeply meaningful space. The sweet tension and romance that lives in the “not yet” is something that is not often savored. This is what Type A Society and photographer Exquisitrie by Kelly Sauer wanted to explore with this editorial shoot at River Oaks Charleston. How does a couple say goodbye to their engagement before they are bride and groom, husband and wife? How do they prepare alone for the vows they will make to each other in front of all their friends and family? How will they dance their last private dance before their wedding day?
