My new “Beyond the Big Day” column is up on Design*Sponge! Together with Ashley of The Flashdance and Jesse of Our Labor of Love, we created a fun and easy DIY summer fiesta at the incredibly beautiful new event space here in Atlanta called Summerour. Although we created the shoot around the idea of a dinner party, the tissue paper decor and DIY projects can easily be carried over into a bridal shower or wedding. How charming would it be to have lots of tissue paper banners strung above your ceremony?! Click here to see all the festive images…

Very festive! I really love the white plates you used in the table setting. Will you share where they are from? I see something similar at Pier1, but it doesn’t look to be the same pattern. Thanks!

Hey Elizabeth

They are from Anthropologie and a couple years old, so I’m not quite sure if they are still selling them.

I love how the tissue paper was used in a unique way with the fringe instead of typical poms! I might have to use this as inspiration for my rehearsal dinner. Thanks so much!!

I drive by that place all the time (on the way to my belly dance classes practically across the street) and I always think how pretty it is and how it would make an awesome event space! I’m so excited to find out it is! Remembering it for the future :)

Is there anyway to find out what color tissue paper was used for the fringe? Such a beautiful, soft color palate for a fiesta!
