Other Venovia Couture #2206 Wedding Dress
I got engaged in 2013, and probably shopped over 12 different places for a dress in Texas. I went with friends to high-end boutiques in Austin and Houston, and to pre-owned shops in the small towns in between. Finding THE dress was a journey for me and it happened right when I was losing hope for the perfect dress with an affordable price tag. The day I found the dress my mom had come to visit me for the weekend filled with other plans. We snuck into Austin TX early one April Saturday morning to a precious little boutique, Alexia Gavela Bridal. Everyone was so welcoming and down-to-earth. I didn't feel like I was being sold anything, just walked into a comfortable experience where I felt welcome. I had my eye set on a Hayley Paige gown ranging in the $3,000 but felt literally TERRIBLE about spending that much money on a dress I would wear once when so many people are in need. But despite this fact and the way I felt, it didn't change the reality that wedding dresses are gorgeous works of art that take a ton of time and material to design and create -which is why we pay a price for them. I had to find some common ground with this reality. So I opened my eyes, and this dress caught my attention. Designed by Venovia Couture, it is stunning and classic, with a strapless lace bodice, added satin belt (could be taken off) and a gorgeous tulle overlay skirt with lace detail on the base. It has a train that can be bustled and a lace up back will will be perfect to adjust for size. I felt like a bride the moment I slipped into it. I felt beautiful, ready, and so excited to wow my now husband. The wedding was perfect, and I couldn't have dreamed of a better gown to dance the night away in (it spins incredibly and flows like a dream). Our ceremony was outside but the reception was in. The cleaners told me it didn't even look dirty or like it had been worn. I had the dress preserved within a couple of months of the wedding (not sure the exact date, as the dress is in TX) because my sister wanted to inherit it. Long story short, she has found another dress that is perfect for her (and she's a couple inches taller than I am) so I feel free to pass this dress to someone else to enjoy; hoping you can cherish it and save some money for your big day.
Alterations to the length did occur, though I think the bust didn't change. I'm 5'6 and wore boots under the gown and it was perfect. I wouldn't recommend it for someone over 5'7 though, as it may look a little short. I weighed 130-135 lbs around my wedding, and I remember the bodice feeling big as I had lost weight before. I didn't wear a bra as the support was built in, I just had to have it tied super tight to make sure I stayed in it! ;) I'm around a 32 D (which is not on the big side, don't let that D confuse you) though I really do thing there is room for adjustment since it ties up the back. I have a TON more pictures if you want to see more. Also, I have a short video I can email you.
I had the dress cleaned and preserved around the spring of 2015 (I was married at the end of December 2014) This includes the belt and veil I wore. Everything is in a box ready to be shipped. It really is just like new, no tears or wear that I know of. Nothing happened to it the night of.
