Marisa Style 737 Wedding Dress
I found this gorgeous Marisa gown in a small bridal boutique in Jackson, MS. On the hanger, I wasn't over the moon about it but the sales associate reassured me that dresses look different on your body, and she was not kidding! As soon as I put it on, I knew it was my dress. I instantly fell in love with the soft, flowing ivory organza that is asymmetrically adorned with exquisite, delicate Alencon lace applique (3rd picture provides best view of this detail), but I was pleasantly surprised with how the romantic & timeless A-line style complimented my body perfectly. The strapless bodice, which zips up the back for quick, effortless dressing, has a tasteful, very slight sweetheart neckline, and I have seen pictures where other brides have added straps, making it a very versatile dress. I knew that I wanted my dress to be comfortable & easy to wear, and this dress couldn't have been more perfect! Additionally, while I was married in a church, other pictures of this dress that I have located appear to be from beach or outdoor weddings, which makes sense because this dress is so light & breathable. Initially I had hoped to purchase a used gown myself, but unforeseen circumstances prevented it, so I would love the chance to help another bride on a budget get her special dress at a lower price. I hate the idea of sticking a basically brand new dress in the closet to sit for the next half-century when someone else could use it, but I don't have any family to whom I could pass it. I don't believe that the pictures I have provided really do the dress justice, but they were all I had available (laptop issues, etc...) so please feel free to contact me if you want to see more pictures or would like any additional information about the gown. I am also willing to consider offers but serious inquiries only, please.
Dress is tag size 12; after alterations, it is roughly a street size 6. Minimal, professional in-house alterations were made and alteration measurements are as follows: bust - 33.5" waist - 26.5" hips - 39.5" & hemmed for 5'5" height (for personal comfort, I wore a bra but looked the same without one; shoes were ballet flats). Matching organza bustle was added to organza shell - all ribbons are in tact & reusable; color-coded bustle added to satin lining (1 or 2 of the four ribbon sets had to be cut for cleaning but could easily be replaced; this layer is not visible, so you could probably use safety pins). Will be glad to provide close-up photos of these details upon request. For additional help with size range: I am 5'5" & 138lbs with narrow shoulders, smaller bust & waist, wider hips. I wear size 8 pants & XS/S shirts; A-line styles allow me to wear a size 4 dress, which fits my top while accommodating the hips.
I only wore my dress for 2-3 hours max (short indoor reception - no alcohol or spills; perfect weather), so it is essentially brand new. I had my dress professionally cleaned after the wedding & all visible signs of wear on hem were successfully removed. After cleaning, I hung my dress alone in a dark room (not jammed in a closet) in its breathable bag, with the option to have it heirloom boxed (I loaned my veil to another bride & was waiting for it to be returned so I could have them boxed together); since I changed my mind about keeping the dress, I held off on taking it back to be placed in the heirloom box but would be glad to do so before shipping if buyer prefers. Please feel free to request detailed photos of the hemline, etc... to verify condition.
