David's Bridal Spk472 Wedding Dress
I Purchased this wedding dress new in December of last year from David's Bridal. I first saw this dress on Pinterest and fell in love immediately. It was the perfect dress for our vintage wedding. I wore the dress for the ceremony only, which was in side of our church. I changed into a 1940's white wiggle dress for the reception. The dress was taken to the dry cleaners when we came back from our honeymoon and it looks fantastic.
I did have the dress altered to be more fitting in the butt and legs. This way it looked like the model in the picture. Before the alterations the dress just hung past the hips. I also had the dress bustled. I didn't need it to be bustled but I wanted the option for the pictures after the ceremony. The bustle is made only for the dress not the tulle train, I'm sure a seamstress could make one for it, if you wanted it done for your reception. There is a 3/4 of an inch small rip/hole in the tulle train. I never noticed it until my mom was fluffing my train the morning of the wedding. I'm not sure if it was there when they shipped it, or if it happened at the cleaners. Either way, I never noticed it before and neither did anyone at the wedding. I looked beautiful in this dress! I'm sure if you are a perfectionist bride, ( which is completely normal) you could add a few white stitches in and it would look like it was never there. :)
The dress was taken to our cleaners, who did a deep clean on the dress and they rethreaded any loose bead work. The dress is hanging in the closet with a shape preserver insert and covered in a plastic cover. I will ship this dress in the same David's Bridal box that it was sent to me in.
