I cannot praise this dress highly enough; the craftsmanship, the detail, the silhouette, everything is perfect about this dress. I went into the store with an idea of what i was looking for and this was the first dress I saw and I told the lady that I wanted something just like that but within my price range. So when it came to her bringing out dresses, it sadly was not within my range. I tried on about 7 dresses before the lady decided to bring this one out to me. She warned me about the price and asked me if I wanted to try it on anyway just to get it out of my head. I was like “sure why not” The moment I pulled it on and zipped it, I knew. I had not seen myself in the mirror, but it felt perfect. When I walked out, my mom and grandmother gasped in shocked delight and both started crying. I had not been able to make my mom cry with any of the other dresses and she was BAWLING with this one. This was THE ONE. I literally twirled around the store–flitting from shoes to veils–anything to let me keep the dress on for a moment longer. When I rang the bell to indicate that I had found “the one”, the entire store burst into applause (not just the lady helping me, but EVERYONE in the store). I felt absolutely gorgeous, stunning, and beautiful in this dress.
It had everything I wanted. I wanted my shoulders covered as I dislike strapless tops (not because I wanted something “modest” but I did not want to be constantly pulling up the dress, and I’ve always felt uncomfortable in strapless dresses). I wanted real buttons up the back and lots vintage lace and swiss dots (there’s several layers–one layer of lace, a layer of swiss dots, another tulle layer, satin layer, etc); this dress captures all of those things with an ethereal, vintage charm. It truly makes you feel like a princess. I wanted something which emphasized my waist and hourglass figure, and the tiny belt/ribbon around the waist is the perfect touch. I did however add a sash onto it which just adds the perfect touch to the dress. Every piece of this dress’s design is well thought out and beautifully executed. The dress is comfortable, and the fabric/lace is exquisite. This is something I noticed of all of the Melissa Sweet gowns that I tried on. Even if this is not “your” gown, I would highly recommend her wedding dresses as they are absolutely gorgeous.
Also, it has pockets which I didn’t notice until I was taking the dress off (after having it on for an hour), but added bonus!
Finally, I paired mine with a crinoline skirt to give the dress even more fullness and to keep it from getting caught between my legs as well as unpadded cups. I used a small simple veil, and I paired it with a flower clip. I wore cowboy boots for my rustic outdoor wedding.
The dress was perfect and the day was perfect because of it.
The dress was shortened and brought in since I lost a lot of weight. It is also already bustled and I am including veil, hair clip, full slip (NEW still in bag), and Wedding Preservation Kit with it which is why I am asking $1000 for it.
Dress has not been cleaned, however I do have the Wedding Preservation Kit from Davids Bridal. Ready for you to send off to clean. :)
