Each time I catch a glimpse of my beautiful wedding dress hanging in the hall closet, I come closer to the realization that it will never be worn again or cut up and made into a Christening gown. My son probably won’t wear it, and even if our second baby, whose gender we are still unaware of, is a girl, she’ll probably have vastly different taste from mine. Plus, what mother of a newborn has time to sew a Christening gown?
I guess what I’m trying to say is, let’s give this gorgeous dress a second chance at greatness!
This is an ivory strapless fit and flare Jasmine Haute Couture gown with Alencon lace on silk organza. It has a chapel length train with a bustle. The back has a zipper plus those fabric covered buttons, adding detail and elegance. The dress has no sparkles on it whatsoever, giving it a vintage feel. It is a timeless dress that could fit just as easily into a very fancy wedding (like mine) as an outdoor rustic wedding. It all depends on how you accessorize! You could wear a crystal belt and huge diamond earrings with it to glam it up, or a birdcage veil to play up the vintage angle. It is a seriously versatile dress.
There are other listings for this dress in other sizes, which you can find by searching the serial number and designer name, so you can see other photos. In the manufacturer’s photos they show a champagne colored sash, which I no longer have. I’ll be honest, I don’t think the sash does anything for the dress. I did not wear it. I posted three of my professional wedding photos. Please note that my adorable father is NOT INCLUDED with the dress.
(Also, if you’re wondering, I wore this dress with a Spanish style veil that came half way down my posterior. Yes, I am wearing the veil as I type up this listing. No, I’m not selling the veil.)
