I knew right away that it was “the one”. Our wedding was a Fall wedding at an Italian-style villa and the theme was very Tuscan– lots of warm colors and herbal accents. I wanted a soft, delicate lacy dress and the Farah by Watters was perfect. On a comfort note, I really wanted a dress where I could relax and not have to wear Spanx. This dress was the ideal dress for that! I felt so beautiful in this dress, and I want someone else to have that feeling, too. It’s a nude slip dress with a beautiful dress overlay. The details are incredible. If you look closely at the gown, you can see the fantastic lace below the tulle. You will absolutely adore this wedding dress!
A silk-charmeuse slipdress covered in hand-placed lace appliqués and overlayed with wispy tulle defines this lovely A-line wedding dress, nipped-in at the waist with a gleaming satin waistband. Faux pearl buttons line the back for a classic look, while the sheer illusion neckline and cap sleeves offer a sweet, modern touch.

It was a bit too big for me, so I had some alterations done. The shoulders were shortened a bit, and the arm holes were opened a (very tiny) bit more for comfort, because they were pinching. The sides on the torso were brought in a tiny bit (I have an hourglass figure). The length of the dress was shortened by an inch or so, and I wore flat sandals for the wedding. I'm 5'2", for reference. Bustle hooks were added. The BIG BIG thing is the slip, which is an important part of the dress. We did major alterations on the slip. I absolutely hated the way the spaghetti straps on the slip looked with the dress, because you could see them through the dress, so I had those removed. The bust area of the slip was in a "pointy" shape where the straps met the slip, so I had the top of the slip rounded into a sweetheart neckline. When on, it looked absolutely gorgeous. The BIG thing is this: the slip has to be taped to your body at the bust with fashion tape in order to stay in place. That is the only way. I only used about 4 long pieces of fashion tape, on the top of the slip and the side of the bust, and I could hardly peel the slip off of my body at the end of the night! It worked like a charm! It stayed perfectly in place after hours of dancing and other wedding festivities. There are two bra pads sewn into the bust of the slip. There are lace appliques on the bodice and some have errant strings-- they can always be clipped or glued down by your seamstress! I am thrilled that I made this alteration. I feel like it took it to a whole new level. If you are open to using fashion tape, I think you will love this alteration as well. (I'm sure you can always have straps sewn back on as well!)
It is in wonderful condition. It's at the cleaners right now! It will be in its Lili Bridal dress bag.
