THE STORY
This dress was perfect for my wedding in the mountains! It was comfortable and laid-back, but still very special. When I saw the dress online at Free People I really liked it, and when it arrived in the mail I liked it even more! However, the original was definitely missing something and looked unfinished. So, I had an amazing dress maker in Napa add several hundred dollars worth of chantilly lace to the “naked” tiers. In my opinion (and everyone who saw the dress before and after), this addition of lace was a HUGE improvement over the original dress. Because of the large amount of lace added, I am asking almost the same price that I paid for the original dress (the lace and lace work were just about $400!)
I received so many compliments on the dress, and it really was perfect for my summer wedding in the mountains.

ALTERATIONS
Lace tiers were added to the dress and lace was added to cover the train. I am 5'4" and about 100 lbs, and the dress was taken in at the waist and bust and the straps were shortened. I think a bit of length was taken off as well. (I wore 1.75 inch heels and the dress grazed the ground). The front part of a bra was added to the inside of the dress (I think it is a 32B or 34A, but just the cups are sewn in), which can be easily removed and changed out if you are more or less busty than I am! I also added ribbons to the inside of the dress so that you can bustle the train.

PRESERVATION
The lace was sprayed with scotch guard before I wore the dress, and it was dry cleaned right away. There is a little remaining discoloration and a few small tears in the very bottom of the lace train, but you can't really notice unless you were looking closely, other than that the dress is in excellent condition.
