I was set on a ball-gown style WITh sleeves, and almost didn’t even try this dress on in the store…but when I did, I immediately knew it was the ONE.
This is the most flattering dress I’ve ever worn: the material is (real) silk so it has a beautiful sheen, but there’s natural cotton blended in so the dress has enough substance and weight that it doesn’t cling to your problem areas (unlike some of the satin/pure silk gowns I tried on). But because the silk and cotton are natural fibers, the dress stays cool and I didn’t worry about sweating even when dancing! There is just enough boning that the dress supports without constraining (I’m a C-cup and was able to wear this dress without a bra after the seamstress replaced the default bust-padding with actual cup-pads. Oh, and the subtle train is gorgeous when down!
I wore it with a BHLDN belt to add a little sparkle (belt is listed separately), but it didn’t need it: the clean lines are striking on their own. One thing I DIDN’T want was to look back on my wedding photos and think “Yep, that was definitely 2015!”, and I feel like this dress was exactly what I needed: the shape is classic and the tailored bust has a wonderfully vintage feeling, but the clean lines keep the styling fresh and give the gown a modern aesthetic. I think a bride would wow the crowd in this dress in 1950 AND 2050 :)
My wedding was literally the best day of my life (so far!), and this dress made me feel so glamorous and beautiful (and the husband was a BIG fan!). I hate for it to just sit in my closet now when it could make some other bride feel as incredible as I did :) Feel free to message me with any questions!!

All alterations done by a professional bridal seamstress: 5-point French Bustle added with color-coded ties, and the waist was brought-in about 3/4". Replaced the bust-padding (thin cotton) with bra-cups to allow me to wear the dress without a bra, but no change made to the structure or size of the bust. Internal elastic added at the knee (not visible, it attaches to the internal construction of the inner layer) to preserve the fit-and-flare silhouette without restricting movement when walking/sitting (seamstress suggested this, and it was BRILLIANT). No alterations done to the hem length.
Immediately sent to a professional bridal cleaner after the wedding, and has been hanging in my closet ever since. The cleaner said there were a few light marks near the hem that they couldn't get out, but I was looking for them just now to take photos of and wasn't able to find them. The inside tulle on bottom has a few holes where my heels caught, but there are multiple tulle layers and the inner layers with the holes aren't visible when the dress is worn.
