Essense of Australia D1252 Wedding Dress
The Story: After trying on literally 100 dresses, crying, co-matrons insulted at stores; body image issues with their mirrors; I finally found IT. Attended a trunk show for the same designer, however this was not a featured gown. Combed thru their racks and there it was.
This dress, with A-line cut, A-symmetrical ruching (flat, not poofy nor added volume to me) was extremely figure flattering in all the right places. Flattened my tummy, without the need for spanx or other undergarments other than panties; flattened my butt (and who doesn’t want that); made my waste look TINY, and could have been even smaller if the co-matrons pulled the corset tighter.
Worn only once for Wedding Ceremony as well as Reception (Sunday brunch wedding); professionally cleaned ($195) by company used by the Bridal Salon where purchased; boxed and ready to ship.
Essence of Australia D1250 Color: Ivory Cut: A-line Embellishments: Rhinestone piece at left hip, could easily be removed Corset: yes, ties in back, includes modesty panel Zipper: NO Chapel length train and American Bustle
Bridal Size: 14 Street Size: 10-12, depending on how tight you get Corset My measurements at time I ordered dress Bust 39.5 Waist 34 Hip 46
With a-line cut and the way it moves away from hips, even though my hips were 42-44 at time of wedding there was no need to alter, it lay perfectly.
MINIMAL: Tucked/pinned down at top of strapless area of chest (so you couldn’t see down the top of the dress). Sewn in bra cups, but can be easily removed. Length altered for 5’4” height plus 3-4” wedge heels. Cost of Alterations: $265 approx (I have receipt in wedding file)
PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED BY BRIDAL SALON WHERE PURCHASED, not “preserved” - cost was $195 for this service. Shipping will be in same box and preservation box provided at time of cleaning (it hasn’t been opened since then - July 2014). Cost of bridal cleaning: $195 (includes preservation box). I also have the original gown bag it came in, from salon (Charme Bridal in Buford, GA).
