Alvina Valenta 9352 Wedding Dress
I purchased this couture Alvina Valenta 9352 gown in November 2013 from the exclusive and well respected Marina Morrison bridal salon in San Francisco and wore it once for my July 2014 wedding. I absolutely love this dress, but I won't have the room to store it long term, so I am hoping someone else will be able to enjoy it as much as I did!
Here is the designer's description: "Ivory French Corded lace over Rum Pink silk faced duchess soft fluted bridal gown. Strapless sweetheart neckline with a sheer lace overlay. Ivory satin ribbon with a jeweled flower detail at the empire waist." There are real buttons down the back!
I asked for the belt to be unattached with ribbon so future owners could choose whether or not to wear it (see photos on the designer's webpage: http://www.jlmcouture.com/Alvina-Valenta/Bridal/Additional/Style-9352). I also made several alterations to make it both form-fitting and my perfect dress; these included: hemming it (I am 5'6" and wore 2.5 inch heels), adding a bustle, adding cups to the inside of the bust, taking in the sides and waist (waist 27", bust 34"), taking in the skirt at the knees for a more dramatic mermaid silhouette, and lowering the back neckline (all of which cost almost $1000 - but it was worth it, because the dress ended up being even more beautiful than it was initially!). I especially loved the look of the lowered back neckline, while the structured bodice still made me feel secure, even when dancing.
It was professionally cleaned, preserved, and placed in an acid-free, paperboard box and stuffed with acid-free paper.
