This Marisa dress has never been worn and still has its tags. It was purchased a few weeks ago as a store sample. The dress is gorgeous. This Marisa dress is 100% blush colored silk which also appears champagne in some light. It is completely covered with a detailed white/ivory lace overlay and delicate white beading. Both the neckline and hem are decorated with eyelash lace. The neckline is a scoop strapless with boning and internal support and structure throughout the bodice. The hem is floor length with a sweep train and scalloped edge. The dress has a dip in the back, just below the bra line. The dress has about 3-4 layers, a lovely silk lined bodice (feels amazing – like fine lingerie), satin skirt lining (double lined in the train), silk, then beaded lace.
The bust measures about 37-38, the waist is about 28 and the hip is about 37-38. It is quite long on me and can likely accommodate a much taller bride.
I can send closeup pictures of the dress to show detail and damage and also give additional measurements of portions of the dress (waist to hem, center of back to hem, etc) upon request.
The dress was purchased with the assurance that it would be an easy and affordable alteration. But, since I am only 4′ 11″ (5’2″ in heels) and have a small bust and my wedding is in a month, the alterations would not be able to be completed in time.
If you are taller and more generously endowed in the bust, then I’m assuming alterations should be much easier, if needed at all.
Additional pictures can be provided upon request.
I have been assured by the retailer that the dress has not been altered, but the bride should be aware that the bust in this dress does run quite large for a size 10 at 37-38 inches in comparison to a waist measurement of about 28 and a hip measurement of also about 38. The dress was sold with a blush silk charmeuse sash sewn in, but since the sash itself was coming undone in areas and I was taking it to a seamstress that needed to see the seam at the waist, I removed it, though I am including it with the dress. I have made no other alterations. For local brides, I can also recommend the seamstress the store recommended to me when I purchased the gown. She is located in San Francisco and has a great reputation. The detail on this dress is exquisite. It is, however, a very delicate material and while never "worn," it has been tried on as a sample and there is a tear in the lace that I'm told can be easily repaired with some invisible thread. I can send pictures of this tear. The lining of the bottom hem also shows some dirt, though if you are getting the hem shortened, this will be cut off. It is also underneath the lace on the inside so it is not visible.
This was purchased only a few weeks ago from the store and has been kept in a garment bag in a smoke-free home.
