Gorgeous Jenny Lee wedding gown, Style 1213 – trumpet fit, strapless with a sweetheart neckline and ruched bodice, made of Silk Duchess Satin in ivory, with button details in back (+ zipper for easy wearing). Purchased new from the Marina Morrison bridal boutique in San Francisco in 2014 for close to $5,000 (including taxes & alterations), and only worn once by one owner. It barely got dirty, but I got it professional dry cleaned just in case.
It is a truly stunning dress! I wore it at my wedding in October 2014 at a winery in Northern California, and I think it would work well for any type of venue – it can be dressed down for a rustic outdoor affair, or dressed up for a black tie wedding. It also looks great with a sash to give it a little bling (I couldn’t decide, so I wore it plain for the ceremony, and then put a sash on for dancing).
The trumpet fit and ruched fabric is extremely flattering. The ivory color makes it a little softer than a pure white, and the satin gives it a slight sheen, which is very pretty. I wore a Fashion Forms NuBra Seamless Push Up Bra underneath, which worked perfectly and gave me nice-looking cleavage (even though I’m pretty small-chested!). The fabric is much lighter weight than some other wedding dresses, which means you can dance and move well in it without it weighing you down or making you too hot. The dress is also very comfortable – it’s not overly structured like many wedding dresses, and the fabric has a little give.
If you want to look absolutely gorgeous at your wedding, and be able to enjoy your special day in comfort, this dress is for you!

The Marina Morrison bridal shop recommended a size 6 for me, but it turned out that was far too conservative for this style, and they should have recommended a size 4 or 2. The dress needed to be taken in quite a bit, but fortunately, they are experts at doing all of their alterations in-house, and they took it in perfectly. I would say it's now a street size 2, or possibly a 0 depending on how you measure it. For reference, I am 5'4.5" and 108 lbs. An elastic band was added to the inside of the dress that clips around the waist to make sure it stays perfectly in place all night. It is very comfortable, and I didn't have to keep pulling it up, as I've seen many brides do on their wedding day. The train was hemmed off, so that the dress could be worn all night long without worrying about bustling, which changed the look of the dress too much. I liked the look of this particular dress much better without the train, and especially without a bustle, because it disrupted the perfect flow of the satin material. They hemmed it in a way that it still had a little volume in the back, but never got in the way, which was perfect. I do still have the extra material they cut off, so you could always see if a small train could be added back on if you prefer.
I have had the dress professionally dry cleaned and preserved. It will just need to be pressed before wearing.
