Thank You + The Free Wedding

the sunday wedding

I was so overwhelmed yesterday by the outpouring of love, support, and praise I received about the new site. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for all the blog posts, tweets, emails, phone calls, and comments everyone left.  I can’t tell you how much I appreciate each and every one of them. There are still a few kinks we are trying to work out, but overall I think we tackled a lot of them yesterday.

A few major bugs we plan on working on all day today and fixing…

  • Dress listings – When we transferred everything from the old server to the new server some data was lost, and a lot of gowns marked as sold were unmarked. We still have all the original information, so nothing was lost forever, but it will probably be till later this evening till we have everything up and working at 100%. Also, some people emailed saying they are having difficulty with the next buttons, images loading, and editing their dresses. We’re hoping to resolve all these issues today.
  • RSS Feed/Reader – The RSS Feed should be working properly now, but apparently some dress listings also ended up in the feed this morning. We solved the problem, and apologize for spamming up you reader. We only plan to upload blog posts in the RSS feed.
  • Next button in galleries – Some of you have mentioned when you click Next in the galleries and dress listings it takes you to the 1st page all over again. This problem only seems exclusive to certain individuals which means the internet platform you are using is breaking the code. We’re planning to test everything again today on all platforms(IE, Firefox, Safari, etc) to make sure everything is working properly and fix any problems we see.
  • Annoying Ads – All the annoying/tacky/blinking/smiley face ads will be flushed out by tonight.

I apologize if any of the problem above have affected how you read Once Wed, but know we are working on them and trying to get all the pieces working correctly. I appreciate your patience and understanding during this little period of transition. If you experience any problems not listed above, please feel free to email me at “emily{at}once{dot}com”.

The images above are polaroids taken “The Free Wedding” which took place this past weekend in Atlanta. I was lucky enough to work alongside some incredible vendors for this event including Our Labor of Love, Amy Osaba, Ashley Baber, DJ Mike ZarinDolci Odille, Sun in My Belly, and Joy Thigpen. It was a magical wedding, and hopefully I’ll be able to share some more images in the coming weeks.

About OnceWed.com

Once Wed was launched in March 2008 to meet a need in the marketplace for an online listing service for second-hand wedding dresses. Within a short time, the company had developed into an online wedding publication and resource to provide newly-engaged brides with inspiration and tools to plan their dream wedding.
