We only have a few seats left in some of our cities(ATL, LA, NYC, and Mallorca) for Studio Sessions. Whether you are looking to style your own images better or photograph more weddings like you see on Once Wed, Studio Sessions is the workshop for you.
Joy Thigpen and I have picked several dates and locations to come to you and do some intensive one-day sessions to help you continue to grow as artists. This won’t be about how to use your camera or how to run your business; we’re only speaking to what we know from our seats. Nor will these sessions be a particularly pampered or posh time; we want to make it affordable and accessible for you as small businesses. It will be light on fluff and heavy on the content that we think will make a big difference in your work.

WHAT PHOTOGRAPHER’S ARE SAYING…
Do you know those few people and moments in your life you can list as being monumentally influential in your life? There are just a couple and they change the route of your life. Without those people and moments you would be going somewhere entirely different, right?… Emily & Joy are on that list for me. And, anyone who has attended Joy’s previous workshops would likely say the same thing!
Working with & learning from Emily & Joy opened my eyes to a new way of seeing things- a new way of seeing dresses, and flowers, and hair, and ribbon, and paper goods. You didn’t know there was another way of seeing these things? Well, there is… and its like putting on a new pair of glasses! This workshop is your opportunity for new glasses. Why would you go a moment longer without being able to see!
Maybe you want to start over from scratch and attract a new client or maybe you just want to see more clearly … either way, this is all you need.
Learning from two of the most humble and beautiful people I know, you will leave going “oohhhh! That’s all that was missing!”
I highly recommend the workshop for photographers looking to gain insight on the editorial process, how to tell a story, and refine their eye. There is so much to learn from Joy and Emily. Working, creating, and collaborating with Joy and Emily has been amazing. Their eye for detail, nuance, overall design and telling a story is remarkable. It is great to learn from their perspectives and experience–the way they see fashion, color palettes, tablescapes, the meaning of objects, and more. The way Joy pays attention to how the bride holds the dress just so — so that the lines fall in the most flattering way to the dress and the brides form, or how Emily provides a layout telling the story with establishing photos, details, portraits and movement… Understanding and hearing the way they look to tell a story helps make a photographer better.
