If you haven’t noticed already, we are huge fans of film photography over here at Once Wed. There is just something so classic and rich about a film image. So today I’m especially excited to share some images with you from one of our amazing sponsors, Raya Carlisle. Raya has recently pulled out her film cameras and gone back to to roots. All of her work is stunning and she has such creative way of capturing those small, remarkable moments from your special day…

This year I wanted to bring something new to my photography so I started bringing different film cameras to each wedding.  I learned on film and began shooting weddings on film, so it’s just been great to go back to that a little and know that I can still load a medium format : )  All these images were photographed with my Contax but I also bring other fun film cameras including my Polaroid 600 and Diana+.  Stepping outside my comfort zone has brought a freshness to this wedding season & I’m really excited about it. And hopefully my clients like it too.

You know what. I like that women with arm tattoos don’t cover them up when they get married. Also I think many people have preconceived notions that these women aren’t into tradition and don’t want a wedding with the white dress/cake/bouquet. This makes my heart happy.

Lyoness: You would love this group of people. They all wear their tatoos with pride and they are the sweetest, all of them. Here’s the slide show if you want to see more:
