Deposit a Gift: Cash Wedding Registry

Deposit A Gift

Deposit A GiftLet be honest, wedding registries are probably one of the biggest perks of having a wedding. You pick out what you want, guests buy what you’ve already pre-selected. I mean, it’s awesome. I’m a huge fan.

But what if you want more registry flexibility than what the department stores offer? What if you want to put your gifts towards something like an awesome honeymoon, that couch you’ve been eyeing forever or even a charity donation?? Well, I’ve got your solution: our sponsor, Deposit a Gift. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again– this site is awesome!! With their cash wedding registry system, you register for anything you want and then your guests can give money towards that specific gift. Then, at the end of it all, you get cash that you can use for anything you want! Talk about flexibility. It just such a great way for your friends and family to give gifts that go towards the dreams and experiences you actually want, not ‘stuff’ you don’t. Plus, the setup is super easy, customer service is awesome and you get a free wedding website and free direct deposit and unlimited cash-outs. Doesn’t get much better than that, huh??

If you are getting married, I would definitely consider a cash weddingregistry, so go check out their site and get registering!  You won’t be disappointed.

  1. The big downside is they charge 7.5% of the total balance. That’s a ridiculous large amount. It also defaults to asking the person giving you a gift to pay the extra. I don’t know too many people who would understand why the gift costs a whole 7.5% more. They might just want to give you the cash in hand. I dunno, I don’t feel like charging my wedding guests extra to give me stuff. Maybe everyone else’s guests are more understanding or something.

  2. As a person with a Deposit a Gift registry, I totally disagree. For us it felt more ridiculous to register for stuff we didn’t need, forcing guests to pay shipping on gifts we were going to return anyways. Shipping and tax is A LOT more expensive than their fee, which has been totally worth it for us. You get what you pay for, and I think we’ve all experienced a lot of gougers during the wedding process, but the customer service experience with Deposit a Gift has been above and beyond. Plus it gave us a way to be honest with our guests about what we really need. I guess if we had guests who were cash givers we wouldn’t need this site, but since we don’t, it’s a great middle ground to give them a registry (so they stop asking!) and we still get what we want. I’d feel a lot worse returning their gifts, but this way we won’t and will be able to invite them over to enjoy our new kitchen and see our honeymoon pics, which is what we’ve registered for.

  3. I love this idea and from checking out the site – I love it as well. I’m getting married next year and we really don’t need a new toaster or dishes. What we would love is a new home and a honeymoon. A friend of mine didn’t register for anything and thought people would just write checks, and was she surprised when few actually wrote checks and most just bought her random stuff – a lot without gift receipts. I understand there’s a fee but for any registry there’s always shipping costs that are actually much higher than that.

  4. Superb ideas of cash gifts. This is a very awesome idea of gifts. If you are going to present gift someone and they don’t like your given gift then it is better to present them a cash gifts so that they can buy or invest this cash gifts according to their choice.I really agree with this blog.

  5. My fiancee saw Zankyou and we saw that it is only 2.85% in comparison to depositagift. I’m still researching though. Any suggestions?
