From Christina, the photographer:
I’ve dreamt of visiting Havana for years. Every photo I’ve seen of the city painted the story of a colorful, charming place, full of character and rich in culture. After a particularly long and cold New England winter, I decided that I wanted to go somewhere warm – so Cuba it was!. I convinced a friend of mine who is a local wedding planner and designer to travel with me.

We arrived in Cuba with the hopes of creating a bridal inspiration shoot reflective of the romance and beauty we experienced during our time there. Although we had an idea of what we wanted from our shoot, all we brought with us was the screenshot of a brief conversation with our amazing model,  beautiful dress and cape, and a few select pieces of stunning jewelry. Our trip coincided with a particularly rainy season and we were admittedly a little worried about the various elements of the shoot coming together. After spending a few days getting to know the historic neighborhood of Old Havana – with its vibrant buildings, beautiful architecture, and friendly people – we decided to move forward.

Part of the beauty in choosing destinations so culturally and visually rich, is allowing the environment to tell much of its own story as it is documented. The morning of the shoot, we woke up to the most beautiful sunrise we had experienced since we’d arrived in Havana. From that moment on, the rest of the shoot seemed to fall into place effortlessly.

It was a trip of a lifetime. We had the fortune of meeting so many amazing people who have now become friends. Because of this, Cuba holds a special place in our hearts. Having been able to exercise our creative muscles in the process was just the cherry on top of an unforgettable week!
