Refined Wedding at an old English Estate

We are definitely suckers for beautiful architecture and the unique ambiance different styles can create for weddings. This refined wedding shoot at Boconnoc House & Estate in Cornwall, England highlights the best of the old home (which dates back to the 11th century!). The beautifully restored estate is a stunning location for an elegant wedding. Smokey grey, blue, and earth tones feature predominately in the building, lending itself perfectly to a wedding palette of grey blues and hints of peach. A gauzy bridal gown complete the look, with a refined, modern feel.

If you’re dreaming of a refined wedding like this one, finding the perfect venue needs to be your first priority. Whether it has an antique feel like this old English estate does, or is a ballroom setting, allow the setting to guide the rest of your aesthetic decisions, like color palette, floral style, and bridal party attire. “I’m a Fine Art Film Photographer based in Germany, and was lucky enough recently to shoot an inspirational bridal editorial piece at beautiful Boconnoc House and Estate in Cornwall. It focuses on quintessentially English, refined, understated elegance. For the colour palette we worked with predominantly grey/blue tones of Boconnoc touches of subtle colour of peach and white. Antique furniture and exhibits, organic letterpress, a amazing wedding gown, a bespoke jewellery and stunning florals by Cornwall florist, completed the look. All the photographs were captured on medium format film lending a soft, timeless romance to the images.”
