From the bride:
Russell and I met a couple of years before we had our first date, so when that date finally happened our relationship moved very quickly! It sounds cliché, but we really did know from that first date that we would get married one day. We were engaged 5 months later, and began planning for a September wedding the following year. With over a year to plan we had our first choice in vendors and were really able to come up with our dream aesthetic. Flowers were a really important element. I started there and worked everything else around the florals. I even chose a simple Ines de Santo dress to serve as the backdrop for my bouquet. The flowers and all of the accompanying stylistic details on our wedding day were beyond what I imagined. Perfect in every way!

Our family and friends were the most important part of our wedding day. My brother served as our officiant, my sister-in-law and best friend, both of whom I’ve known since childhood and who are sisters themselves, were my two bridesmaids. Their daughters, one of whom is my niece and goddaughter, were our two flower girls. Russell’s groomsmen were his three closest friends and younger brother, and our guests were a mix of closest friends and extended family from all over the country. My mom wore the same vivid floral dress that her mother wore to her wedding in 1978, trimmed and altered a bit to make it more modern, and I wore my grandmother’s cameo necklace and earring set. We were married at Red Rocks Country Club, where Russell and I spent our first summer together lounging by the pool with my family, against the backdrop of the foothills and red rocks. Getting married there felt like home.
