From the Bride, Samira:
While planning our wedding, one thing we wanted to make sure of was that we shared the once-in-a-lifetime moment with our parents, who mean so much to us. We decided having our wedding day in Greece, which would allow our parents to set out and explore the romantic Greek islands on their own afterwards. Since Justin and I find happiness in simplicity and intimacy, Santorini fit the vision for our day more perfectly. Our wedding took place on a private terrace overlooking the water, with beautiful sunset views. The sunset there is truly one of the wonders of the world!

I wanted to maintain a minimalist approach, so I followed a neutral colour-scheme of whites and greens while still incorporating a few pops blush, red, and burgundy of colour to complement our sunset ceremony. Since we were having an intimate dinner set up after our ceremony, our planner suggested we use the flower arch as our table runner. It proved to be a simple, efficient, and sophisticated touch.

Adding a wonderful, personal touch to our day was the music Justin spent countless hours putting together. It was a surprise playlist for the ceremony and dinner. Each song created the perfect backdrop to the paradise-feel of our wedding. He not only incorporated some of our favourite music, but also songs that our parents had played on their wedding day. This caught everyone by surprise and got all of us teary-eyed.

If I were to offer advice to other couples I would say that it’s very important to select the right team of people to help you plan the many small and large aspects of your wedding. Don’t rush into making snap-judgement decisions on who will play each role. Just like your soon-to-be husband/wife, you’ll instinctively know the right fit; so take the time to interview and vet the people who will help make your special day just that – special!

Spectacular! I had my honeymoon in Santorini – our villa was in almost the same spot in Oia as this one. SO simple and gorgeous!

Wow they had incredible light to work with at sunset. Santorini is on my list of places to visit and hopefully film a wedding.
