Joyous Outdoor Wedding with Bold Color Inspiration

In this world of weddings, soft shades, delicate accents, and pretty little details reign supreme. So, we’re thrilled to disembark from the typical and showcase a joyous outdoor wedding filled with bold color choices (which still includes its own share of “the pretty”). The inspiration began with the venue itself, a Spanish-inspired villa with a remarkable tunnel of blooming yellow wisteria. Something this vibrant certainly can’t be avoided, so the decision to fully embrace the bold hue brought about an accent palette of warm wood and wicker tones, citrusy oranges, and touches of mauve for a unique flavor. The overall look doesn’t overwhelm, but rather compliments the space with pops of vibrancy well suited for an outdoor wedding.

“Inspired by the palpable joy the couple and their loved ones experience in the moments leading up to the ceremony, we set out to design a shoot that captures the essence of those sweet, unnamed instances. When we discovered Villa Catalana hidden away just a short drive outside of Portland, Oregon, we knew it would be the ideal backdrop for our endeavor.

We imagined the Spanish-inspired venue infused with fresh bursts of color while also remaining romantic and classically elegant. The venue itself yielded a great deal of delightful details for us. A tunnel of blooming yellow wisteria made for the dreamiest ceremony location. We imagined the guests under the canopy of fragrant blooms with the sunlight sweetly filtering through as the bride made her way down the aisle. We continued the jubilant feel into the reception, which we imagined would take place al fresco on the villa’s grand stone patio. Climbing roses and weathered pottery added the perfect touch of old-world charm while the lush arrangements of soft peach and ivory peonies in wooden vessels added just the right amount of organic femininity to the tablescape. With an abundance of candlelight pouring over the table, we could almost hear the joyous laughter of the guests and the clinking of glasses filling the spring air as the sun set behind us. We could not imagine a more delightful wedding day for a couple to enjoy with whose they cherish the most.”
