Not every wedding guest list has to have every single one of your second cousins, their spouses and kids, and everyone from the neighborhood you grew up in. You might feel more at home with a very intimate wedding, maybe with just your siblings and parents. This styled photo shoot set at the beautiful Foxfire Mountain House in the Catskills, NY shows us how to host an intimate wedding with cosy, warm decor – it makes us want to curl up in front of that stone fireplace while sharing appetizers and cocktails, just like at a beautiful dinner party.
On the decor side, this welcoming table also shows us how to design with a warm, neutral color palette in an elegant way. Often neutral palettes feature cool tones – white and grey – so the soft caramel, wheat, and beeswax accents bring a different sense of depth to the tabletop. It’s very fitting with the stone fireplace and dark wood floors, and heightens the cosy feeling.

“The purpose of a workshop is not primarily to give attendees beautiful images, but rather to provide opportunities which allow for the attendees to define what is beautiful to them, and to give them situations in which to capture that definition. With the subdued sophistication of Foxfire Mountain house as our backdrop and inspiration, our stylist Lacy Geary went about creating an event full of rich colors, textures, and emotions that allow for such an opportunity. We choose to create a sense of elegance and class for this shoot to compliment the character and sophistication we felt from our environment. The florals from Kelly Lenard communicate a sweeping ease, yet grounded familiarity – a sense of establishment.”
