Today’s engagement session is amazing for so many reasons: first, it celebrates the incredible natural beauty of Iceland. Second, we love that photographer Aleksandra Semyonova simply followed a couple as they enjoyed time together, doing some of their favorite activities. And third, we wish we were as cool as the couple is! From a little off-roading and exploring the beauty that the Iceland landscape offers, to a secret dive in an outdoor pool together, the photography captures the couple as they are: comfortable, happy, and simple.

“This styled shoot was a part of “Brumley & Wells” Workshop in Iceland. We were surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of the land of ice; it was the perfect place to create an outdoor engagement story. There is something magical about Iceland, and my main goal was to create a story that fit perfectly with its charm. Outdoor shoots are the most lovely ways to convey the beauty of nature.
Our dream team was inspired by the Japanese concept of Wabi-Sabi for this session, and I really wanted to keep the shoot simple and clean. Wabi-sabi reminds us that simplicity is beautiful and that we should appreciate minimally processed goods, natural materials, and pure nature. By keeping the details organic and slightly messy, we were able to bring the focus to the couple. I loved the chemistry between Bryndis and Martien during that shoot. Bryndis is so feminine and delicate; she conveys a truly Icelandic beauty.
This engagement shoot in Iceland hopes to show how gorgeous it is to feel the power of nature and human relationship. Looking back on these images, I’m so grateful for the all talented vendors who helped to make the shoot not only a reality but a truly amazing experience for all the “Brumley & Wells Workshop” attendees.”
