Intimate Elopement in Greece by Claire Salisbury

From Ellie, the bride:

“I feel like Greece was calling us. I’m from an island in Northern Australia called Magnetic Island and I always knew I’d be married on an island. There was no way to achieve a wedding at home without it being a big affair, so we decided to go abroad to keep it authentic to us and discovered Lefkada.

Though we wanted an intimate elopement, we are also huge family people. My sisters are my best friends, so going without them was difficult. I paid tribute in my bouquet with the Protea which is very similar to the Waratah, the Australian national flower.

We used a lot of florals and fairy lights to create a feeling of intimacy and enchantment. We traveled a long way, leaving our families to elope in paradise, so I was wanted to make the most of it! Inspired by a fairy light garden on Pinterest, Claire took it upon herself to make hanging gardens overflowing with flowers. Our ceremony didn’t need much more especially with a view as spectacular as the one Lefkada had to offer.

My custom dress took incorporated a few different styles. I wanted something sexy yet simple. It was quite difficult to find a white dress without added detail and embellishments. Peta C handcrafted a beautiful gown with a slight flair and short train. It was simple, timeless and understated.”
