“Set at the stunning Dorfold Hall, a Jacobean country mansion house in the heart of Cheshire in the UK, the aim of this editorial was to create a laid back vibe of a couple in love, relaxing at home before their intimate wedding. Taking inspiration from the relationship of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg who had hundreds of glamorous photos taken of them, Jane, the English rose, Serge the somewhat disheveled, intelligent and creative Frenchman. Often appearing together on fashion photo shoots and famous for recording ‘Je T’aime’ We chose a Charlie Brear bridal separates outfit with tassels that were very similar to a dress worn by Jane Birkin on a photo shoot with Serge and styled the model’s hair undone and tousled. The second outfit, a Jesus Peiro gown with a beautifully beaded back was a little more formal – yet still relaxed – to match the bride’s soft up-do.
The color palette chosen for the florals and stationery had French romantic and feminine overtones, some soft blush mixed with more autumnal shades to echo the season too.”
