Elegant and Graceful Wedding Ceremony Inspiration in Atlanta

There is an inherited sense of elegance and grace in historical buildings that makes them perfect for weddings, and the Swan House in Atlanta is one such setting. The old stone walls, sweeping staircases, and beautiful grounds have a distinctly romantic feel to them, creating an idyllic venue for an outdoor wedding ceremony and reception. Taking a cue from the muted palette of the building, the florals use soft, mottled tones of cream, mocha, beige, blush, green, and a touch of mauve. Natural wood textures are the perfect compliment, and continue the elegant, graceful aesthetic throughout the wedding.

“There are very few architectural places that I don’t find intriguing in their own right. When photographer Laura Gordon and I talked about doing this shoot, the Swan House in Atlanta was the one place that we both immediately thought of and fell in love with. We wanted to create beautifully designed wedding inspiration at a place that was old world in feeling and had elegance and grace.

The venue is very well known and has been photographed quite a bit, so when we were looking at the spaces for each element of the shoot, we wanted to use areas that weren’t so well recognized. The ceremony location is one of my favorites; it uses the soft curve below the main staircase as the backdrop. The texture and depth create a timeless feeling in a place that is quite unexpected. The muted colors and the vintage elements that we used from the florals down to the immaculately designed paper goods created a feeling of simplicity while still being luxurious and real. I wanted to provide a source of inspiration that veered from the norm slightly and incorporated elements of a time forgotten. I also wanted to create a way to look beyond what is seen and find the hidden places that make a space unique.”
