We love hearing about a wedding directly from the bride – meet Connie:

How Connor and I met
Connor and my cousin, John, are best friends from high school. Connor and I met, over 5 years ago, when we were both at The House of Blues to watch my cousin’s band play at the I AM Fest. I was taking photos of the band with my new DSLR camera. Connor came up to me to ask me about my camera and my interest in photography. I know this sounds cheesy, but everything else in the room for me faded away when we were talking. We just kept talking and talking until my sister pulled me away. We both knew we had to see each other again. Which we did. For the next few weeks we would both hang out with John so that we could see each other. Then Connor asked me to get a drink and brought me to the Green Mill for our first date, to see Alfonso Pontecelli play some gypsy jazz. We went on a date once a week after that for like 5 weeks, then that turned into us hanging out everyday for 5 years…and then we got married.

Our wedding day
It was perfect! Really – nothing went wrong. It was a beautiful day. We had absolutely gorgeous fall weather with brilliant sunshine. Connor got ready at his mom and dad’s house in Lake Forest surrounded by his closest friends and immediate family. I also got to get ready with my immediate family and closest friends at my childhood home. It was such a non-stressful and calm getting ready situation. I also got some great alone time with my dad too before we walked down the aisle together. The church was filled with 260 of the best people in the world. We are so lucky that we got to start our marriage with the love and support of all those people. Then coming back to my house was so incredible. I remember getting off the trolley from mass with Connor and seeing the house filled with everyone we loved and hearing Alfonso Pontecelli playing gypsy jazz in my living room. It was pretty surreal. The rest of the night was just pure fun and joy talking to everyone, dancing, and just being with Connor. Overall, it was really such a beautiful, peaceful, and fun day and night.
