“We took inspiration from further afield in many aspects of this editorial but brought it back to the Nova Scotian coast by using local vendors. We first worked to create a custom romantic floral-arch filled with a multitude of garden roses, peonies, gladioli and anemone to provide an intimate ceremony space for our couple at a Private Estate, before they were whisked away in a vintage Mustang to their secluded island honeymoon escape – only accessible at low tide.
Using a fresh modern colour palette featuring shades of blue, we decided to keep our details simple, which created an uncomplicated sophistication to our modern theme. The cake that was created was a cubed three-tiered wedding cake with lace floral accents in cerulean blue, which tied together with our underlying colour palette.
Our bride wore three breathtaking custom designs by Katrina Tuttle Bridal; each featuring textiles that were then carried over into all of the looks; starting with a formal fluted ceremony gown, to a sleek reception dress and finally, a playful Honeymoon romper.
Our furoshiki wrapped welcome gifts were a nod to our bride’s heritage, and our groom’s custom blue suit was also styled in three different ways; proving that your wedding attire is not just an investment for the day; it can be re-worn time and time again. Every element in this full editorial piece was lovingly brought to life by the hands of dedicated and talented East Coast vendors, who showcased the very best of their work.”
