Deep Burgundy Wine & Rich Green Fit Perfectly in This Napa Valley Bridal Shoot

Nestled among beautiful gardens and ponds, the wine cave at Hans Fahden Winery in California’s Napa Valley was the perfect setting for this moody, yet soft bridal session.

The concept of this shoot was all about contrast and textured design. From the rugged walls of the cave to the delicate floral gown draped across the bride. From the light entering the cave’s entrance to the shadows deep within. From the bride’s slicked-back hair at the crown of her head to the untamed curls at the ends.

To keep with the natural and organic feel of the cave, an all-green floral display was created, with vines crawling up across the cave walls. Small pops of color including a marigold silk bed linen and maroon and burgundy florals were added for a touch of contrast against the neutral color palette. One of the highlights of the shoot was photographing the bride in a rowboat adorned heavily with maroon and burgundy foliage, set in a lily pond.

The bride changed into a vintage-inspired, floral embroidered lace gown and wore a tall, hand-sculpted floral headpiece. With the beautiful surrounding gardens and lily pads, it felt as though we had stepped into a Monet painting.
