One of our fellow wedding bloggers, Ritzy Bee, recently tied the knot with her husband at the home they built together in Virginia. She was kind enough to share some more details behind their sweet and simple ceremony at home…
I recently got married…but kept things very small + very quiet in a bit of sweet irony with my profession. We actually tied the knot in our backyard of the house we just finished building and moved into…just the two of us but celebrated with cake, champagne and then a fun, fancy dinner out. We planted a dogwood tree (it’s the Virginia state tree + flower) together when we moved into the house which is the inspiration behind the cake design. The bottom tier pear cake with blackberry preserves and white chocolate buttercream. The top tier was white velvet cake with chopped chocolate and peanut butter buttercream. The champagne coupes were Josh’s grandmothers while the cake server were my great grandmother’s.
Today's post celebrates the meaningful details. The classical architecture of the location, paired with the elegant blush gown and rich berry-toned florals, beautifully reflect the sense of history created by the handcrafted wedding invitation suite, comprised of heirloom family love letters.
