All the floral details chosen would be Australian native, in whites, browns, silver and lilac. They would be arranged in simple bunches or single stems and displayed in recycled bottles and jars, old wire crates or wooden boxes. There would be beautiful flowers but also gum nuts and seed pods, twigs and spindly branches.
One lovely long table would stretch down the room, with hessian and burlap table covers, and recycled wooden plank table runners down the length. Australian river rock salt and olive oil would be offered in dishes and small pouring cups. Fresh baked bread of all kinds (including gluten free!) would be offered in wooden crates for guests to graze at their leisure.
The menu would be something that would allow guests to pick and choose for themselves, like a collection of wood fired pizzas made just for our guests on the evening. Nothing too fussy or formal, that just wouldn’t be us!
Table seating would be hand written in white on a long kraft paper roll hung from a wall. Table numbers would be handwritten on kraft paper flags placed amongst the flowers. At their place setting guests would find their name card tied to twigs and little branches collected by hand. The table settings would be made up of cane and bamboo fibre sculptured dinnerware by Wasara with bamboo cutlery to match.
Guests favours would be native Australian floral seeds, placed in muslin bags with thank you tags, attached with mini wooden pegs. Our wedding cake would be a beautiful lemon meringue, just like the one in my inspiration board, and we would finish the night with homemade gelato cones in lemon and watermelon flavours… and would live happily ever after!
Thank you so much to the Once Wed team for having me here this week, I hope you’ve enjoyed this little peak into my world! Jessie x
