Elegant Garnet Wedding Ideas

I went to Prague in February and was really inspired by the colour of my garnet ring that I brought back as a souvenir (showcased in the shoot as the engagement ring). The color is so rich that it dictated the mood of the shoot: understated and luxurious.

Because the colour palette is so rich, we wanted to bring a few lighter tones into the flowers to keep them from becoming too deep. Soft tones of pink and plenty of mixed shades of green brought a lighter feel to the arrangements.

Due to the lush outdoor setting and the ethereal quality of the dresses, the florals couldn’t be too perfect. Academy Florist opted for a more garden shape in the oversized bouquet that lent a much more romantic feel to our bride. Hand-died silk ribbon by FrouFrou Chic was brought in from France in the perfect tones of garnet and cranberry to tie off the stems.

The lush floral centrepiece is paired with 2 large bowls of fruit to add some natural colour to the table and has a dual purpose of acting as a part of the wedding appetizer (fresh fruit and assorted cheese plate). Hand dyed napkins, custom calligraphy menus and brass and silver accents all work together to create a sophisticated tablescape.
