Escort Ideas To Match Your Wedding Look

Many wedding professionals would agree that one of their favorite parts about weddings is being able to convey their couple’s personality and tell their story through décor and the details. So when dreaming up your wedding look, keep in mind that every single element is an opportunity to showcase your style and who you are as a couple. No detail is too small – and in fact, it’s often through these little details that your wedding vision is ultimately conveyed.

Wedding branding expert Kristen Ley Green, of Something New for I Do, shares with us some tips on designing an escort card display or seating chart that is reminiscent of your overall wedding vision.

The details and décor of your wedding will likely be inspired by a color palette inspiration piece or full-fledged wedding style. Think about what that inspiration is and how you can carry it through to your escort cards.

For example, if you’re hosting a vintage affair during the summer, a fun idea might be escort tags attached to old-fashioned soda bottles to keep your guests cool. What’s great about vintage and rustic weddings is that almost any antique makes the perfect seating chart display. You just need two surfaces, strung together with ribbon or twine, with escort cards hanging accordingly. Some ideas are two vintage ladders, a beautiful frame with the picture or glass removed or a pair of antique shutters. Visit your local antique store for inspiration. Bonus points for having your invitation designer customize tags that will tie in the look or color scheme of your invitation for cohesion.

For budget brides or those with a DIY flare, a little chalkboard paint can go a long way. Some of the most beautiful seating charts are simple signs adorned with calligraphy and florals. Get creative and think about items with a flat surface that you can easily paint like the glass of a mirror or picture frame, rustic wood slices or an antique door. Once you have your surface complete, ask your planner to recommend a calligrapher you can hire to write your seating chart.

Similarly, mirrors embellished with a font to match the filigree on the frame is the perfect look for a more elegant wedding. We also love the idea of an escort card wall, composed of smaller ornate mirrors of various shapes hung on a backdrop of florals, wooden doors or a patterned fabric – whatever matches your wedding vibe.

For a more organic look, escort card leaves are an easy and lovely solution. Being a more minimalist bride, you might also consider ideas that can also serve as favors such as bunches of fresh herbs like rosemary, tagged with your guests’ names. Similarly, mini potted succulents or tree seedlings make for organic escort ideas that can double as favors.

And taking it back to basics with a twist, we’re also currently loving handmade paper adorned with beautiful calligraphy.
