One of the most gratifying experiences of blogging thus far has been the people I’ve met since launching Once Wed back in March. Joy Thigpen is one of those incredible people and I’m so thankful we bumped into each other along the way because the more we talk the more we realize how perfect it really was our lives intertwined the way they did. Not only is Joy a talented wedding photographer, but she is a sensational stylist and I mean sensational(you might remember her as the stylist behind Tec & Chelsea’s incredible wedding). I look forward to introducing you to more of Joy’s work in the near future as we’ve been dreaming up big plans for the site, but for now I wanted to give you a glimpse into our first collaboration together.
When Joy and I started brainstorming ideas for a Table Trend we could put together in only a few days we came across a lot of great ideas, but wanted to make sure to only incorporate materials that were inexpensive and easy to find. Joy had been itching to use burlap for quite a while and had recently seen an installation at Anthropologie which really sparked her interest to create a rustic table setting with a bit of bling. Joy pulled together the board above and decided on burlap, aged paper, hints of gold, and antique chandelier crystals as the four recurring themes for our table top.
