This dress was not the first one I bought. About two weeks before my wedding I went looking for a veil at David’s Bridal and had a meltdown–none of the veils there, in any shade or style worked with my first gown (it was vintage, and not a wedding gown so I was realizing the error of my ways). After some tears, a kind salesperson asked me if I’d like to maybe try another dress. She brought me this one. I slipped it on and I suddenly felt like the bride I was supposed to have felt like the entire engagement. This dress is a dream.
The lace and asymmetrical gathering is romantic and flattering. And the gown is so well-structured that I didn’t require any special undergarments, it has a side vs. a back zip so its a breeze to get on, and all-around easy to wear. I felt elegant, and yet the slim silhouette made it just relaxed enough for my succulent/wildflower arboretum wedding. I wore the gown for both ceremony and reception. You can dance like crazy in this dress and felt totally secure. A few twigs and leaves stuck to the train during the ceremony, but were easily removed for reception.
It barely looked worn the next day, but still I rushed it to the green cleaners in my neighborhood after the honeymoon and it’s been on a dress form in a sealed a bpa-free plastic garment bag.
